Another year has come and gone, and it’s time for my annual travel reflections. 2024 was a year full of new experiences, unexpected trips, and beautiful memories. I explored new destinations, went back to some familiar places, and had a few challenges along the way. Here’s a recap of my travels this year:
January
Nothing exciting in January this year—sometimes it’s nice to take a break and rest after the holidays.
February
Skiing for the first time in Bansko, Bulgaria was hands down the highlight of the year! It was an amazing experience and definitely the best trip I had in 2024. The snowy mountains, the thrill of skiing, and the stunning views made it a trip I’ll never forget.
Unfortunately, I had to quickly fly back to Athens for a funeral, which turned a short weekend into a longer one, but sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and you have to adjust.
March
In March, I traveled to Larnaca, Cyprus for work. The city itself didn’t really impress me much, but I stayed in an amazing hotel, which made the trip enjoyable. Later that month, I flew to Bulgaria again for another long weekend.
June
In June, I went to Athens for a short holiday and had the chance to visit Aegina Island for a weekend. I absolutely loved Aegina, with its charming atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and delicious food. It was the perfect escape for a weekend getaway.
July
In July, I made my second visit to Poland. This time, I explored Krakow, which was amazing. I had previously been to Warsaw, but Krakow offered a different vibe—rich in history, beautiful architecture, and a vibrant atmosphere. It was a fantastic trip!
August
Instead of going to an island for 15th August, I chose to head to Sweden, and specifically Stockholm, to enjoy the Nordic summer. I was absolutely in love with the calm, natural beauty of Sweden. The long days, crisp air, and gorgeous scenery made it one of the most memorable summer trips I’ve had.
September
Dubai in September was truly an amazing experience. It’s a city that feels like it’s from another world. The blend of modern luxury, towering skyscrapers, and Arabian culture made it a fascinating destination that I’ll definitely return to.
October
In October, I flew to Athens again for some bureaucratic matters—not the most exciting of trips, but necessary nonetheless. Sometimes you just have to take care of business!
December
December was all about the festive season! First, I went to Brussels to experience the famous Christmas markets—it was magical! Afterward, I headed back to Athens to celebrate Christmas with family and friends. It was the perfect way to end the year.

I didn’t travel as extensively as some years, but I made the most of every journey, whether for work, personal reasons, or just to explore new destinations. What stands out most this year is how travel brings unexpected joy, new connections, and memorable experiences.
